Do NOT give any of your personal information to this person! I received an email from Seshu Babu who indicated that he is with the company Pyramid Consulting, Inc., which indicated that he had a job for me. The job was in the field where I have experience, and in his email, he gave me a short job description of the job, as well as the skills required.
I thought that this was legitimate and it seemed legitimate, as in the past, I was contacted by a REAL employment agency for a REAL job. In his email, Seshu asked me to send him an updated resume, for which I did (it does NOT contain my address). Then, he said he needed to speak to me, for which I called him.
The number is an Atlanta, Georgia number, but I noticed immediately that it seemed like I was calling another country due to the connection. I had a hard time understanding him due to the terrible connection and due to his very thick Indian accent. He asked me about my previous jobs a little bit and then told me that he needed my social security number (HUGE RED FLAD). I would NOT give him my social security number, and the call ended with him telling me that he needed me to send him an even more updated resume, as mine had a gap in it.
Immediately after I got off the phone, I started looking up the company. There is a website for this company, and they were closed when I tried calling them. I don't know if the company is fake, or if this guy is using the company's name to scam people (the number he gave me was NOT the number listed for the company).
I googled "Pyramid Consulting Inc. scam" and found out that there are people trying to scam others with this company name. While seeing what I could find out online after the call, he emailed me again telling me that he needed my social security number, and then he called me (no doubt to try to get my social security number again). I let his call go to voice mail for which he did not leave a voice mail. I emailed him back telling him to never contact me again or I would file a police report against him.
I am thankful that he does NOT have my address or social security number, but I am still upset that he even has my resume.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER give out your social security number to anyone! I have worked for several different employment agencies before, and they NEVER ask for your social security number over the phone.
Don't be fooled by this guy or anybody that he is working with!
