i never commend on these forums, but feel the need to.
Sorry for your situation. Truly.  but do the public (and yourself) and get a job where you actually provide a SERVICE to people instead of just annoying the crap out of them.
You are right.. nobody wants to be bothered by your company, or ANY other company like them.
You surprised that you won't ever get to talk to people again after they learn of this ?
Shouldn't be a surprise.    
Your company provided ZERO value to anybody. period.  
Get a respectable job. Best Buy, a store in the mall. Circle K. something.
remember - if you have something to fall back on (this BS job of your), then you ALWAYS will fall back on it.
Get out there, apply yourself, and get a real job.

To contribute somewhat to this thread, I have alerted my Allstate office of this number.

I can only work jobs that will let me sit down on my walker just so you know and out of 500 jobs this is the only one that would hire me. Even a place that is called Comfort Zone that hires the disabled for jobs would not let me work there and would not hire me due to budget cuts and they were not there for me. I have to work and cannot get SS after a 13 year fight since 1999 yet you read and see on YouTube tons of people getting checks that can walk and can do tons of stuff and can drive a car and I cannot drive a car. This leaves only about 2-3% of the jobs I can do here in this city with a real unemployment rate of at least 40%. You can tell every Allstate office you want to in Portland that this is going on and they have probably authorized us to call-otherwise we would not be doing it since 2005 here. There is even an Allstate office across the street from where the call center is. The men who started the center used to be Allstate agents. Tons of outbound call centers have gone out of business since 2008 and things are bad yet people on here complain all the time over a 20-30 second phone call. This call center is one of the few left and all 100 of us need jobs desparately. What many people do not understand when people Do not work-they are on welfare and that comes out of you and your tax dollars. I had Zero income for 8 months and the Workforce office did ZIP for me and did not help me at all and all they told me was there are no jobs and could care less that MSI outsourced and laid me off. I got no help and no severence from no one and even Comfort Zone who hires the disabled did not care and all they gave me was their sob story about the lack of funds which was not my falt. We do provide a free quote for people and are a good company because I hear it on the phone. Every where you look down every major highway tons of businesses here have gone out of business and it is a domino effect when people do not have jobs because people cannot go any where or buy anything. Yet eliminating of call centers according to this board to you is a good thing. How many more damn jobs do you people want to eliminate and more businesses to go out of business. I know many people who have lost businesses here in Portland through no falt of their own. Do you want to pay for our welfare and our food stamps and our housing for the rest of our lives? I don't think so. You think of these things when you call every Allstate agent to complain here in Portland taking jobs away from people who need them so very bad. We want some respect and not handouts. Don't you have something better to do than to complain to every insurance company in town?

Today when calling a (509) Spokane WA area area code and a 570 area code which was in PA two men were extremely rude and of course will brag about it to someone on a bus or out in public at a bar or restaurant to try and make their self feel big and important. In the first area code I asked for Fred which was the only name on the record that we had. We get lists from the list companies and probably the phone companies and the numbers are random generated. This rude man said that he had got 70 phone calls with people asking for John. Then I tried to talk to you you jerk and you would not let me say one word at all. Then you said to me without me saying a thing-"Do you know how retarded you are asking for John" all because the record was wrong and we had the wrong name. I just wanted to give you a good insurance quote but you let me say nothing at all. You did not met me fix the record or take the number out of the dialer because you called me "retarded" and hung up. Then 2 hours or so later I think that one of my co-workers called you (he sits on the row a row over from me) and you called him DUMMO or Retardo and said we needed to have the right records and upset him as well. People like you sir start scenes in stores, in grocery stores, in bars beating people up, in restaurants complaining about the food when it is not even bad and go to all places of business and on public transportation and start trouble every where you can where there are people that are "beneath you working or there is someone working there who you feel does not deserve a job. I tried to ask you a question permitting me to fix the record and you called me this degrading term before I could do nothing and then you hung up. Just so you know no one gives a GD how rude you were to me on the phone. They have a life and could care less and will walk away when you tell them how rude you were to me. Do you go into group homes and call those people who are born mentally disabled and ill through no falt of their own and call them retarded too? I have heard at work and outside of work about people like you. Every where you go you see an entry level person working you go and start a scene with them and you probably do this all over the city you live in. I know how jerks like you operate. Your number has to be physically taken out of the dialer. How can I do anything if you call me a horrible name and hang up. I can not. I can do nothing. Then another man in PA in the 570 area code I asked for Fred and he gave me a long lecture about how stupid people that read the record and ask for the name are and that are telemarketers are retarded because of the way I asked for Fred and the way we have it on the screen. It is not the falt of the telemarketing company that called you that the record is wrong. Of course I tried to talk to you and explain how it works with our lead company and you called me Dummy and Retarded before I was able to say anything to try and help you and you hung up. Again you are that type of person that starts scenes everywhere you go and pick out entry level workers and try to give them your crap because you feel crummy about yourself. Alot of us have degrees up here and just so you know I have a 4 year degree in Accounting and was in two bad bad car wrecks and have to do call center work due to me being physically and mentally limited and cannot get SS and have been fighting it for years and years. I went to computer school for a year and have gone to all classes at the Employment Department after MSI which was a call center laid me off in August of 2009. I tried to get skills to get a better job. I use a walker and 97% of the jobs I cannot stand to do. I want to work and do not want to be on the government the rest of my life. But yet many people on here want to blame call center workers for all their problems and their crappy life and why they are like they are. We need to work and want to work and if you met us are not these horrible people. Our employment rate in Portland is the 3rd worst in the nation and more people are no welfare here and are using social service agencies than ever before and they cannot handle it and yet the National No Call list and NAAFTA keeps going on and eliminating entry level jobs. How much worse do you want it to get in this town where businesses all over town are going out of business and crime is rampent.

My stupid phone company (Verizon) is charging me 5-6 bucks a month to block these crooks, parasites and identity thieves from harassing me at home. I think that this feature should be free and included with the 160 bucks a month i pay for their service.

Patricia, it's clear you have been given a raw deal, but i am glad to see you aren't in favor of handouts.
however, do realize that the unsolicited calling that you, and your co-workers do, is UNWANTED.
Granted, no need for the people to call you names or be rude, but seriously. What do you really expect?
yes, times are tough.. and the LAST thing we want it be harassed by call centers.
here is a news flash.. I know i have Allstate.  DUH.. if i want an updated service quote, i will contact my ALLSTATE Agent.. not some flash in the pan sweatshop call center.
Again, your firm adds NO value to the community.. it only instigates anger.


now, as promised in my earlier thread, there is no need for everyone to get bent out of shape.
I call my (fabulous) Allstate agent, and told her of this phone number.
here is her response -

"Sorry about the phone calls, Allstate has contracted with a company to make phone calls to our clients to schedule policy reviews.  I have had a few complaints on the reps that call, so I apologize for that.  I have put you on Allstate's DNS list and put that  you only want to be contacted by our office.  Please let me know if you get any other calls, it will take about 5-7 business days to process the request."

See people ?  just handle it like a professional, and call your agent and they will take of this..
no need to be trolls.

And Patricia, try something like Medical billing.. or something else you can do from home.
I don't buy that you can't get around, since i saw you post earlier that you overheard your 'co-worker'...  seems to me you can get to the office just fine.
this isn't about you, or your condition, it's about your choice of jobs.
