Received 2 calls after 11PM last night claiming the Sand Springs Credit Union Card was disabled ..hung up before the recording finished.....this was the 3rd call my wife and i received on our cell phones yesterday claiming our cards were disabled and wanting the card number....she got the call from 215-676-2278
I received three calls from that number last night, all after midnight. I ignored the first two calls, but the third time in ten minutes that it rang, I answered. I received the same message you did, and it said to hit 1 to reach the security department. I hit 1. It then asks to enter the 16 digit card number for security purposes. I sure as hell didn't enter it in, and this looks like a basic scam. Wake people up in the middle of the night, scare them while they are still groggy from sleep, and see how many immediately enter their credit card numbers. This needs to be reported to somebody!
I have been inquiring at work as to who we can report these to.....does anyone have a clue...i tried the better business bureau online but they require more info. i will try to call them now.
Well keep us posted. I'm sure that, if this number called 1000 people last night, at least 50-100 would have innocently yet ignorantly just entered their credit card information. It makes me sick that these kinds of operations are, and always will be, in existence!
