SCAMMERS ! Answered phone...guy starts talking -- sounds 'live', and is offering a "free" medic alert, along with "free" $3,000 grocery coupon. Says that it has already been ordered and paid for by someone and all you have to do is touch 1 to give shipping info. I knew this was a totally bogus hoax, but decided to play along. After pressing 1, a recorded woman's voice comes on and says 'you will be transferred to an international number at regular rates', so I hung up. I'm guessing it's one of the off shore PHONE SCAMS, where if you dial the number, it will charge 20 to 30 dollars to your bill, since you "OK'd" it by pressing 1. THese low life slugs need to be stopped -- too bad our 'gubmint' is too unconcerned about doing anything on the rampant phone scams that are out there.... call or write your senators and congresspersons and complain about them doing NOTHING to stop this criminal activity that preys on unsuspecting people (mostly elderly)
