Got a call from this unknown number this morning May 5, 2012. Recording stated that a debit card had been stolen. They did not identify themselves. I just hung up on the call. Then researched the number on the web.
Got a call from them today (May 15, 2012) at around 2pm. Didn't even pick it up, so glad to know I didn't miss anything worthwhile.
I wonder if this is connected to the random "Unverified Sender" texts I've been getting mentioning HSBC notices. I just looked through my messages and they used 3 different call back numbers in 3 different texts:
800-471-4309
415-494-2854
320-286-8568
Unfortunately, I responded to the last one to request they stop texting me. Looks like that might have made things worse if they're starting to call now.
just received a call that the information on my Credit Card was compromised. Total Lie!! It is a Scam just wondering how he got my information! I will have to ask the Police Officer in the family!
Said my credit card had been locked and to provide my card number and exp date almost fell for it and did give out my number but came to my sences and stopped and imediatly called the card company and requested a new number and card.
By the way i truely beleave these scamers are out of Nigeria yes! Nigeria and have been connected thru Craigslist in some sort does this ring a bell no pun intended......
