This number called on SUNDAY, to my mobile phone, even though I am on the government do not call list. Did not leave a message. They are being added to my spam numbers. . .
I recived a call from this 1-404-604-2394 and my kids, threating that at 1pm tomorrow they are fileing @ felons agaist me in my city, said the police will be to my home or work to arrest me, it stems from a pay day loan from over 2yrs ago, im here in Michigan there in Atlanta GA, is this a scam or can this really happen, can anyone help,
Total scam. Being in ordinary civil debt is not a crime and you cannot be arrested for it. These people are just trying to scare you into paying them some money. This is a common scam used by debt collectors. Do not return their calls. Do not talk to them and DO NOT AGREE TO GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.
Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell and them and talk over them. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .

I don't know where they are located but I suspect it is in Buffalo, New York.
