This is CompuCredit, Atlanta, GA. They are a collection agency for a credit card company - Aspire - to whom I owe a balance. Collector was very courteous and we've reached a monthly payment plan. He confirmed my account information and did not request that I provide any additional personal or financial information.
"Mary" called from this number "on behalf of a relative" saying that I needed to make an "emergency health directive" due to some health emergency. Being that this relative is not at this address and assuming this was a bill collector I stated that this relative was not at this address in hopes to get off their list (as I SHOULD be.) They then started to claim that it was a medical emergency and that X would die if I didn't contact them back immediately. I accepted the phone number & extension, when I called back I got a VERY dodged Anthony on the phone who would tell me NOTHING! Who does your company do? Nothing. What's your company name? Nothing. Would offer to connect me to an extension but nothing more. Hung up on me.
These people obvious purchased a database and are fishing for info. Caller Beware!
Caller "Faye Nginj" wanted to talk to (person named) about "personal business". Very pushy individual, at first would not reveal company name and would not state her business with the person named. Finally offered to take a message with phone numbers. Gave DIFFERENT number from caller ID number. When called back, was told by a very polite receptionist that it was a credit card collection agency. Since the person named did not owe anyone anything, concluded that they were fishing for information, since it was a very common name.
person keeps calling for(person named)and only leaves a message on voice mail saying the need to determine a final dis.. on a matter that was just brought her att...and is very rude...
