Called this morning. Started to leave a message that "the IRS is filing a lien against you..." That's when I lifted the receiver and immediately hung up on them.
I got the same recording as the above from the "IRS". I actually called them back and the man who answered sounded like he was from India *RED FLAG*. I asked him if he was a scam (lol) and he told me he could not hear me and would call me back. Which was funny because he was able to hear and respond to all my other statements/questions. He never did call me back of course. I have had calls from Indians in the past telling me I owned money for an old cell phone carrier I had. I paid it and realized later I always had a zero balance. Now I always hang up when I hear they are Indian. *Never give out your info!* My ex called one of them out when he got a call and they responded with the fact they make tons of money off of stupid Americans. Chances are, if you are not getting letters in the mail that require a signature from the IRS, they aren't filing a lawsuit against you either.
Got a call on my cell phone from this number. Definitely a scam caller. Since our sole income is now social security, we don't get enough to owe taxes anymore. We are the last people the IRS would be looking for......lol.
Said they were Newco Construction and were suing me. Also something about the IRS. I've had no construction work done and have no problems with the IRS. Hung up (twice!) laughing.
