Got a call from this number. I called them and some guy with a terrible accent answered "This is the IRS....." and I said I was returning a call. He asked for my case # and I said "can you provide me proof you are with the IRS - can you give me your employee ID?" and he said in an awful accent something to the effect of "5566 bla bla bla" and I next said why are you calling me and he said without even knowing my file # he said "this is IRS Criminal ....something I couldn't understand." I then told him to leave me alone and not to call. Believe me this phone caller is not from is from the IRS. I was on payment plan with the IRS years ago for some back taxes and they were way more professional than this and they 'Always send things in writing first!!! Don't fall for this kind of phone scam nonsense. The IRS will always give you legitimate phone number to call like 800-IRS-1040 etc and they person on the other end will speak decent english.
