i was called yesterday and someone told me if i answer a few questions i would receive 75 dollars. but i dont recognized the number being a company number.
called offering to see if I qualified for a case study. asked me some questions about rewards programs I was a member of pertaining to credit cards. specifically chase programs. when i stated I was not a member they told me I was not eligible. stated their location to be off of piedmont avenue but would not tell me the client they work for which gave them my phone number.
This is actually a call from Murry Hill Center, which is a reputable market research group. The conduct focus groups, and offer participants cash to participate in this groups. I've done it several times, and have made good money (usually $60-$125 for 1.5 - 2 hours). The groups are usually sort of interesting - discussing wine labels, beer ads, movie casting, etc.
A "reputable market research group" is an oxymoron. These are professional privacy invaders, nothing more, nothing less. And it's damned funny when they send their shill to post on here who don't even know how to spell "legit" -- no wonder, since they don't know what it means!
