I have received at least 8 calls from 1-404-891-6872 in the past five weeks. The calls are made to my
cell and a message has never been left on my voice mail.Today, April 25, 2012, two calls were made to me from 1-4040-891-6872 in less than two minutes.
When I was watching an E-mail it cut in to say I had won a $1,000 Wal-Mart voucher, then as it went through each screen, I decided it was a scam, and not Wal-Mart, so I just zipped through each screen, however I had completed my name address, phone # etc. Then a few minutes later I got a phone call congratulating me, and stating that although I did not down-load as a contestant, I was still entitled to the $100 gift certificate. He asked if I had a credit card or debit card, and I said "Yes, but I was not going to give it to him!" I asked him to take me off any of his lists -- but that is yet to be seen.
I received a call from this # AT THE same TIME I had just went ONLNE AND upon going onto google to ask a question re: HP Pavilion mic...I go to one of the google listed sites to get the answer and once I'm now at the site a big inbox came on my screen stating "CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE today's winner" I RECEIVED A "CONGRATULATIONS You just won a $1000. 00 gift card from Walmart"
Heck yes Who would not want to claim this prize ? So I click for the prize, which states I only have to fill in the few survey questions to receive my free $1000. walmart gift card. So I allow the pop-up so I can answer the survey questions (which come with "privacy and terms of use" long reads I am to declare I've read and once I fill in the info and download the "I want This" a advertising pop-up "plug in" download, YET I don't want all this I was ONLY to fill in the few questions of the survey -which is to fill in my name, address, tel #, yrly gross income and whether I've a credit or debit card. THIS info is to be enough -SO I THINK- as the first declared congrats. stated, So I do skip the other stuff and only fill in the few survey questions to receive the $1000.00 Walmart gift card. BUT NO ...the screen goes forward to more screens which then tell me to choose 2 other surveys and at this same time I receive MY FIRST call from this #. After entering my required few survey questions - which included my tel # and then clicking for the prize. The end result is I received my first call from this # BUT think I will not receive the $1000.00 Walmart gift card for the "progress" wanted me to purchase 2 items from a selection and fill in these products "other" required surveys/info - which they trhemself also came with long "privacy" "terms of conditions- legal" reads, which I did not agree to.
Hope this helps others who experience calls from this number. I will for certain let this site know If i do receive the $1000.00 Walmart gift card I was declared to have WON and was CONGRATULATED for as I did answer the (original congratulations - few survey questions) I just did not go on with all the progression of downloads or other questions nor did I ok the "privacy" and "legal" terms of the progression. Be careful and be sure to read the legal terms that come affixed (:
