I was contacted by James Roberts. He said that we owed money and if we did not pay by Friday they were going to give my husbands debt case to a process server and he would issue a warrant. I told him we would like to make payment arrangements. He transferred me to the accounting department. A woman named Kathy spoke with me and said that she was with Blakewood Lord and Associates. I asked repeatedly if they were a collection agency, and was told they are only a mediation firm...BS. I called Blakewood Lord and Associates back and they had no Kathy there??? I told them I would like my validation of debt which is my right throught the FDCPA. I spoke with a woman named LISA!!! Lisa Wang perhaps??? coincidence??? LOL I think not. She said she had never heard of such a thing. I spoke with a John White and he said he would look into getting it for me. 24 hours later I have not received it and cannot get John White on the phone. I believe they are owned by Anaheim Asset Management. It is just a " face company" who "hires" Blakewood for mediation...that way they can say that they technically are not the debt collector. It is some seriously shady crap. I mentioned to the investigation company- Benchmark- and to Blakewood the Finance Code that they are directly in ciolation of. For the stat of Texas it is section 392.304. It covers coersion ( telling someone they will be arrested) as well as deceptive practices. It also states very clearly that they have to communicate clearly who is owed the debt. They did not appreciate that I had done my research. I have been hung up on 5 times. Now I have debt collectors DODGING MY CALLS. Talk about irony. Do not pay these scamming, lying, pieces of human waste.

I thought it was a scam too, they are not a scam they are a legitment private investigation firm that works for many different companies I did my research thoroughly, I didn't take them seriously and a few weeks after I ignored the call I got served by a process server. I had to pay to additional fees I wished I would of just settled when they called. Expensive lesson learned.

You all are the reason why the judidcial system doesn't protect law abiding citizens, who cares if it was from 2005 did you resolve it probably not my check was from 2006 I did my research and its not the merchant who is going after you its the check guarantee company who processed the check people take care of your debts if given the opportunity!!! Stop trying to dog this man out for doing his job and they are not a collection agency they are a private investigation firm.

The Wang response is from someone who probably works for the company and is monitoring these replies. Whenever a legitimate company is doing legal matters for whoever, they will always give you documents pertaining to the situation. If they threaten to take you to court. They are lying. To get a court proceeding, a certify letter will be mail to you. I had my boyfriend look into this Blakewood, Lord and Associate company because he is a real private investigator and stated they are merely a collection company not to far from the Camp Creek area in a Industrial office location. He will keep a eye out on this forum and if he see a pattern of people being harass he will get in contact with the FTC, who job is to correct companies like this. DO NOT PAY THIS CORRUPT COMPANY. It is a shame that people prey on other to prosper. That is not how God intended us to live.

Think u Jill and your boyfriend for looking into this company. I too receive a phone call from this company but it was a female. Probably they one called Lisa Wang. She was rude she upset me. After reading your reply I called my brother and gave him the Blakewood, Lord and Associate info and he located them at the office. He been watching them go in and out of the office. He might hand this case over to the GBI to look into. Think everyone for writing to this forum especially you Jill who got the ball rolling. Companies like these have to go out of business
