Automated message saying call the irs st this number. Heavy middle eastern accent answered and immediately hung up when I advised him I knew this was fake.
Same here. Did not call it, but knew it was a phishing scam. IRS would never call you on the phone unless they had tried to mail you repeatedly with certified letters. Don't even call the number back, they can track numbers that call back for future scams.
Just experienced the same call, wish I would have read thru the other comments as I did try calling back but fortunately no one answered. Thank you for posting these other callers same concerns.
Female computer voice claiming to be the irs and filing lawsuits(Plural, as in more than one.) against me. My name was not used and to call back for more information. Called twice so far today. I called back with blocked number and no answer but very strange ring tone. Let it ring until phone company disconnected my phone.
