Claiming to be a law firm. Wanted me to give him my personal information to settle the debt from a "returned" check. Couldn't tell me any information about this "check" asked to speak to his supervisor, very unpleasant lady got on the phone demanding personal information as well. Kept telling me not to hang up she "needed my information. So I hung up. Scam all the way.

Ignorant foreign scammers. They think if they can pollute a thread here they'll do better. When stupidity reaches a certain point the person with it can't be expected to know any different.

Received 2 calls within a month from a "Bob Jackson", stated he was from Global Check Recovery, last call on 4/2/15, wanting to collect $400.00 for a "bad check" written to a local pizza joint in 2007 for $21.00. Had all info on the check (check #, my name, ex-wife's name, who written to, amount, account #, etc). Asked me to go online & he'd give me password so I could deposit the $400.00 while in the phone with him. Also had my current address so I told him to mail me paperwork & he told me he couldn't, it had to be settled right then. Couldn't provide any other information. TOTAL SCAM!! BEWARE!!!!

IDs herself as Natalie Zimmerman from Brewton Law Firm.   Long history of debt scamming on 800notes.  This firm  specializes in attempting to collect debts way past the statute of limitations.  Ignore them and block their calls.  Their contact people are very unpleasant so you probably should yell at them and talk over them and tell them that you KNOW that what they are doing amounts to a debt scamming operation.

Report them if they call you.
