Received message on my cell phone today asking me to give credit card info if I wanted to receive a collect call from an inmate in jail. It was an automated message.
Same as above callers. This is definitely a scam. I notified local governmental officials to start investigation. Also, anyone who is receiving these calls should notify phone companies who could be held liable for harrassment if they allow people to use the phone in abusive manner.
I received 15 calls in a 24hr period and had 10 voice messages telling me the same as the above people. I don't know how this scam works but it is a form of harrasment and I am tired of the calls. As I type this I am receiving one now. Someone needs to be held liable for this action.
actually, worried: my boyfriend was in jail because he was getting deported since he was an illegal Brasilian immigrant and he called from the jail phone and when you pick up the inmate just starts talking. That is what happened with me and my boyfrend..
