Who called from 4049960701

I got a couple of messages from this number today... I called back and a woman answered, asking me who I was. I didn't identify myself. When I asked who they were and why were calling, she put me on hold and I hung up. I called back again and a man answered and said they were "NMG". I asked them what they did and he said, "we collect money" I asked why they called me and he said, "Let me find out who called you, can I put you on hold".

The message that they left referenced "NMG" or national mediation group and also referenced "federal statute 805-11". I looked on the internet and found this site with several other messages about similar calls from similar numbers in Atlanta and it seems like this is some sort of scam.

"Your case is scheduled to be processed without your consent.  We have made several attempts to contact you.. .. .."
No idea who or what.  Sounds like a scam.

This number came up on caller id, but did not talk to any one. Thanks to the few people who left a note. I will not bother calling this number back.

this number callls and hangs up leaves no message or number to call back. Does not identify itself. Would reallly like calls from this number to stop.
