a man named robert johnson called claiming to be an investigator for the law firm of morgan & shapiro. claimed that i owed 1107.00 on a defaulted payday loan. said if i didn't pay, they would forward my name to state of pennsylvania so they could issue a felony warrant. refused to give address of law firm, and has also identified himself as a compliance officer.
This is a scam. Failing to pay a debt isn't even a misdemeanor, much less a felony — it's strictly a civil matter. The people who called you are committing extortion and fraud. They're probably from outside the U.S. so the chances of prosecuting them are slim and none.
