Idiot called on my c.l. ad wanting to have their "assistant" send me a money order plus $50 extra for the "delay". obviously didnt fall for it!!! I actually called the phone number (anonymously) and found out that it is a "google customer"? Whatever...I hope he/she gets theirs!!
I too got a text to my phone, requesting my Full Name, Address and would send a cashiers check for 2/3 of a 50 dollar item and would "overpay" in the end when picked up. I requested a personal call. How does this scam end up if one to comply? IO: How does it work? Curious
Same story here. Sold a $100 item on Craigslist and received 2 fake moneygrams for $988 each. Was supposed to send money to a different address. . Phone number was in Oklahoma city and letter was stamped throug mail at Manchester, MN. Date on money grams were months before the sale. Turned into local authorities and reported the potential fraud with government. The way this fraud works is that you cash the money order through your bank and get stuck when they dont clear. Glad i didnt fall for it!
Received a response to a Craig's list item - requesting a text back and details that were already noted ( name of product and price) on the Craig's list ad.
I called the number from a public phone leaving a message that I would not text and if still interested I would communicate by email thru Craig's list - No surprise haven't heard back.
