I wonder if it would help to pick up and instantly hang up. They call me every single day even though I never answer. Beyond annoying! Does it ever end? I am tempted to just get rid of my land line where I get all of these scam type calls. I get a few on my cellphone but at least there I can block the numbers and it is quite a while before they try again with a new number.
Carolyn - I feel your pain. This may actually be Feed the Children calling since I automatically give a monthly donation and they called asking for me, by name. On the other hand, I do NOT want to talk to them because the CID can be faked and they just want CC info. Do not pick up the phone, but block the number. Some of the Panasonic cordless phones allow you to block numbers, just like cells do. But, yeah, I am on the verge of getting rid of my landline too since 75% of the calls I get are from "charities" wanting money. Just pathetic.
