I am receiving at least two calls per day from this number and the calls come in at different times. I do not answer the phone if I don't recognize the number - legitimate callers leave messages; telemarketers never do. I saw a post by Gary that said he thought it was a debt collector (my credit is impeccible) or a telemarketer. I tend to lean towards telemarketers because it fits their SOP.
I believe it to be a collection agency AND a telemarketing company.
Why?
This past Monday they were trying to get me to buy auto "insurance", but its "break down assistance".
Today, from the same number they asked for a lady whose number I have now, and she has been dead for over 5 years.
I know this, because I did a web search of my number and found her name, THEN I did a web search for her obit and it occured just a few MONTHS before the [***] at the phone company gave me the number.
The person when told of her death then asked "CAN you prove she's dead"?.
I told them how to find it out and they said "its the law" for me to do so.
Told her I was a law student and know my rights and most importantly the law (FDCPA), she actually screamed and hung up.

The calls continue coming ... after going through a list of calls from TN, NY, VA, WA, & LA with 3 unknown locations, I was sort of happy to have one call from my state of residence. Again, no message was left. I pay dearly for an unlisted number and resent these calls!
