It is a police thang, International Association of Police Chiefs--they are a real organization, not a scam. Problem is they engaged a very disreputable marketing firm who hides behind CNAM of "Okla City OK" and won't identify themselves. That marketing firm uses block of numbers of 405-421-0xxx. Oh and if one tries to find physical location for 4054210894, won't locate it within state. A typical practise of telemarketing firms is to make it appear you are talking to someone local, when they are actually located in New Jersey. Not spoofing per se, but a very technical operation that uses switches in that calling area that are routed from virtual switches somewhere else. And guess what? That sort of daisy chain operation is completely legal. Now who could we contact to get that type of telemarketing outlawed? Oklahoma legislature? Good luck to ya just trying to get someone to even listen to your complaint.
Nice informative write up. It's not unimaginable that some professional fundraisers use less that professional and less than ethical business practices when preying on the American consumer. I agree they call won't give any info and for sure won't enter a request for placement on their do not call list.
