Grandpa Moses has the right idea. The only thing I have to add is call your attorney generals office in addition to the DO NOT CALL list. The AG office does take the phone number of these places. You can either fill out a form on line for request a from by snail mail. The are supposed to keep records of the phone numbers and are to fine them for not complying.
I had one collection agency constantly calling me day and night 7 days a week. I was not even the person they were looking for. Evidentally they had this number prior to me. I got so fed up with it I went to the local police dept and reported it as a harrassment call. They did not take the complaint but they did have someone from their dept call the telephone company and now I have a voice mail stating that if you do not know me and do not have a personal message for me and are either solicitin or surveying to hang up now and if you do know me you must push #1 to continue the call. AMAZING how people will hang up after one ring now if I could just figure out how to do this with my cell my problems would be solved. Since I can't I figure if enough of us complain to the AG office they may be able to fine these companies and impose penalities.
I get calls from this number about 3x a day. No message is left and I don't answer. I figure if they really want to talk to me they'd be thoughtful enough to leave a message. I don't know whose number this is, but I sure would like to find out. If anyone knows, it'd be nice to have the information
Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities. You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws. The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.
I kept getting calls from this number. I called them back. Less than 2 minutes wait time. I waited 30 seconds and a message came on that said for me to leave a message. I hung up. I called back, and now estimated wait time is more than 10 minutes. I hung up for good this time.
Just got a call from this number. Called back and they answered and it is the customer service for a weight loss company. They said I visited their website, but I never visited it. Not even sure of the name of the company, they said what is was, but I couldn't understand them. I told them I didn't have any questions about their product and to please not call me again.
