This number called me claiming to be an OKC Fire Fighters fund raising firm. They wanted to come by my house and collect a donation. Sounds fishie to me because they called my cell phone, and not my home phone.
Metro Firefighters Association in Oklahoma City is a legit, fund-raising organization. However, their phone number is 405-236-4444

I am not aware of them calling cell phone numbers although this may be a new development. I don't find where the 405-526-4339 number is connected to this group. I am unaware of any other association making fund-raising calls in the OKC metro.
This numbered called me at work at 5:15 pm (while I was away from my desk). Did not leave a message and when I called it back 30 minutes later it said it had been temporarily disconnected. How can that be?
They called my work number and asked to donate to help out with the expenses for the community work that firefighters do. They represented themselves as representing firefighters in OKC. I donated $30 and received a decal that reads 'METRO FIREFIGHTERS' 'We Support FIREFIGHTERS'. They also left me with a information sheet / a receipt describing the work that they do for the community. On that information paper, they describe themselves as a "not for profit organization" and "donations are not deductible as charitable contribution". I asked one of the firefighters who worked in the Midwest City if he recognize Metro Firefighters Association and he did not. When I asked him about how this company called me asking for donations for the community works that the OKC firefighters do he did not know anything about it. He said firefighters never call business to donate money over the phone. If anyone really knows about these people and what they do for OKC firefighters, please leave accurate a comment on this site.
