On October 24, 2012, at 5:53PM, I received an automated call from 405-553-3010. I called the evening number (OG&E's automated system) and checkced my balance. I also checked my account online.
I had a missed call from this number. I've tried several times to call whoever it was back & the number always has a busy signal. The message that was left starts out as an automated message that says the call is from a restricted number on behalf of OG&E.
Calls from this number are automated reminders from OG&E. They are based on information from the night before apparently. So if you make a morning payment online, you may get a reminder that your bill must be paid, etc. even though it has been. Best to call customer service anyway.
These are scammers - a female called and identified herself as working for OG&E - she said they needed the last four digits of my social security number - I said I would call them back and then she offered to "transfer" me over - I told her I would call back independently. I phoned OG&E and they said it was a scam and that these parasites had called into OG&E pretending to work for a different department within OG&E trying to get customers private information. So whatever you do do not speak to these criminals. Or better yet give them a bunch made up false information to mess with their little bitty brains.
I received a call yesterday morning saying they were with OG&E and they needed me to verify the last 4 of my SSN. I asked what this was in regards to and they told me they could tell me once i verified my last 4. I told them no way was I doing that and then the lady said "thank you mam" and hung up.
