There is but it's another 'hero charity' where you're donating more to the caller/solicitor rather than what they're calling for. Donate only at your convenience to sources you find on your own, not random calls.
Didn't answer (only rang 3 times). Glad I didn't looking at the previous posts. Have dealt w/these LEO "charities" before. There is good most depts have nothing to do with them. The vast majority of the proceeds do not go to the expressed beneficiaries. Charity Navigator is a pretty fair way to check these out.
