He responded to my craigslist ad as well saying he's deaf asking for texts only. I'm leery of out of state area codes so I looked him up and found this thread. Thanks guys. I avoided it.
Thank you so much for all of the info. I too was almost taken by this number this morning on a car I have for sale on Craigslist. Similar situation on a number out of New York. Once I got the similar response from the second person. I knew something wasn't right.
This idiot texted me..... same MO as others here......said he/she was deaf... send me a check......yeah.......IF THEY THINK THEY CAN FOOL ALL THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME........then......

10 minutes after posting an ad on CL the "deaf" guy texted with the cashiers check and mover coming bla bla bla. I texted back and said "your not only deaf, but dumb too" no more correspondence
