Unfortunately, no one at 800 notes has the capacity to tell your caller to stop calling you. IMC is Integrated Marketing Communications, in other words, a telemarketer. They are a "robocall" system that takes on many different clients. This particular call is from the National Rifle Association. Call back gets "Thank you for calling the National Rifle Association. We are calling you with important information updates. We will try to reach you....." IMC prides itself on an integrated marketing campaign. In other words, they are really good at annoying people. Anyway, if you don't want to hear from the NRA block the number!
I completely empathize with you on that one, RT. Once the NRA gets hold of your number, the fight is on. I eventually blocked 161 numbers that they use to finally be rid of them.
You just need to arm yourself (so to speak) with the right tools to eliminate their calls. For me, landline service is archaic and useless. It's far too expensive and cannot provide the features needed to combat nuisances. Blocking devices are just a Band-Aid on top of that festering wound.
Get yourself a VOIP service that will provide you advanced, unlimited blocking, let you keep your existing number, voicemail, 911, etc. for a small fraction of the cost of a standard landline (I went with voip.ms). That and a $50 ATA and you can keep using the same old phones and never notice a difference, except for the virtually eliminated phone bill and bogus calls.
For a while, I was using a white-list approach (making all unknown callers press a button just to leave voicemail), but I actually missed being able to record the bogus calls and report on them here, so now I just send them directly to VM with a message that usually tricks the auto dialers into talking.
It sucks that we have to go to such lengths to take back control of our phones, but it’s only going to get worse. Might as well take control of it now.
So irritating, calls all hours of the day. Why would anyone think you would do business with this company.
I hang up and have began vexing them. (curse of never ending dark clouds, released only when they stop.)
Curses like flat tires, skunk encounters, flu bugs, lost wallets. Geez really. These businesses actions will help to sell phone screening devises.
