I got a call from them a few minutes ago, a "woman" named "Lisa Middleton" left a voice mail concerning our conversation last week about lowering the payments on my credit card, said this was a good deal for me since I'm only making the minimum payments and asked me to call back at 877-723-1426. I have only one credit card which I pay in full every month. I did not call back, it is definitely a scam. If you call back even if they don't get anything out of you they will at least know that your number is a working number. I don't know how these a*holes get away with this, there are so many laws being broken here. The 406 number is almost certainly a spoof, the actual call is done by a computer using VOIP I bet. So they could be outside the country. Having said that, somehow they must've set up the 877 number in the US so at least that part should be traceable, I would think. The FCC should at least be able to disconnect the 877 number.
Did not answer because I didn't recognize the number. I called back, got their message about what to do if I didn't want to receive calls about their promotions.
yup. i got this same voicemail from phone number #406.224.9079. told me how i was only making minimum card payments (interesting since i dont have any cards). she left phone number #877.723.1426 to return the call. I got an answer on the first right and told them they really shouldn't allow their predictive dialer call cell phones, as i could get them sued, and to kindly take my number off of their calling list. The lady that answered was kind of snooty. we'll see if they call back. If so they'll be hearing from me again.
