Call from MT interested me, about 3 words from someone who probably needs to register with Homeland Security and I hung up. I will put them on our WA. fraud, scam hotline.
Called as a Microsoft Tech and my comp. is in danger--affilliated to other # 716-200-4864 called the day before. Called him out as a P-O-S scammer and hung up. He called back and threatened me several times.
So simple. Anytime I EVER get a call from an area code I don't recognize I wait for the message. And I know I don't know anyone in Montana. They usually don't leave a message except for the IRS scammers. Then, since I'm on Windstream phone service. I dial *60 and go thru the call blocking process. I do this every time. DNC doesn't work. Too many loopholes. Thanks democrats.
I've had periodic calls from this number, always the same voice. They usually match some of the described calls, telling me he is from Microsoft and my computer has been hacked. I usually just hang up. Today the call piggy-backed on a call from a friend; I picked up, heard my friend say hello, and then this guy started in. I said to him, "Hang up; I'm on another call that I want to continue, and my computer is fine." Then he started calling me "Honey." I told him a bit more forcefully to hang up, and finally hung up myself. For the next few minutes I couldn't use my landline at all, because he was still on it. After a few more minutes, it rang. Thinking it was my friend calling again, I answered, but it was this voice again. I hung up and called my friend back on my cell. I checked with my phone company's policy and this is not considered a reportable harassment call because it only happened today and did not involve threats of bodily harm. Unwanted sales calls are not reportable. We are already on the "Do Not Call List," but many calls get through anyway.
