I said hello, and nothing, then in a couple seconds somone started to say something, but the gap made me figure it was a telemarketer, so I was already hanging up. I dialed *67 to block my number from their read out and dialed their number and it was busy. If it is for the police association, why an out of area call. Does the police hire professional telemarketers?
Called me at 5:53 PM 4/1/2011. Said he was representing the Police and Fireman's Association. I said I don't donate to telemarketer's for any reason as I am on the "Do not call list". That didn't phase him. He started in with his designed guilt spiel by saying "The Children" need my help, and just $20.00 would do it. I just hung up
Just called me 10:30a 10/3/11 Caller ID said "Broadvox LLC"
First off, the guy was yelling into the phone, "LAURIE? LAURIE IS THAT YOU?" Which kind of freaked me out. Then he says he's calling from some policeman's association and asks if I agree that it's important to keep kids off drugs. I agree, but immediately say that I give to my LOCAL police station. He then repeats himself, "You DO agree it's important to keep kids off drugs though, right ma'am?" I repeat, "YES. I only give to my local department and do not give my banking information on the phone." But before I can finish, he starts in again, "That's fine ma'am, but..." I didn't let him finish. I hung up. Freaking rude. If you are representing a law enforcement agency you damn well better be respectful!
