Same here, I got a text message as "Google 7939296" and nothing else.  Had no clue what it meant.

Same, texted twice from this number 20 min apart with just "Google [7-digit code]"
I recently have had my Gmail account accessed from China, and so I set up the SMS account recovery.  Now in the "Recent Activity" it shows my phone logging in several times during the night.
