First you do not place the number who called you on the DNC list, you register your home phone or personal cell phone so unwanted sales calls are reduced. Second, those calling to solicit on behalf of a charity are not required to register for and use the DNC list because such calls are exempt. However, they are required to maintain and internal Do Not Call list and place numbers on it when requested. They have 30 days from the day of your 1st request to comply. If they call again after the 30 day period is up you can file a complaint with the FCC here make sure you include the date you request to be placed on their internal Do Not Call list and the date(s) of calls after the 30 day period:
