First a recorded message offered to reduce my credit card rate to 6.9%. Being suspicious I spoke to a rude and ignorant representative who had no info on me. When I told her to put me on the od not call list she hung up on me.
I experienced the same thing. I pressed 9 to be transferred to an operator to ask to be added to their DNC list because I had received calls from this number multiple times already. The operator said "Hi, I understand you are interested in lowering your interest rate, is that correct?" and I replied "Sorry, No. I just want to be added to the Do Not Call li - " Before I had finished I was cut off by dial tone.
Got a call from this automated system today. After pressing 9 so I good get wonderful credit (yeah, right), John answered. I then blew my airhorn into his ear and John was gone. After his comes back from his otologist, I'm sure he'll remove me from that list!
