got 2 calls in 1 day. Thing is we don't owe money to credit cards !!!!
These kinds of calls are slowly but surely driving us to cash only deals.
They are on our rejected calls list because. You guessed it >>> when I tried to call back... this number was a cancelled one !!!!
I continously keep getting calls from this number telling me I can lower my credit card interest rate. Every time I have selected to be removed from the calling list. This time I spoke to a live person and asked to be removed and was hung up on.
I live in North Carolina, and unfortunately when people in my area code call back 407-000-3958, they are calling my phone blowing it up in frustration. I got some pretty rude messages about the card service people, and I just wanted people to be aware that when you call it back it may direct the first 7 numbers to the area code you live in so you aren't calling back the card service scammers you may be calling back real people who have nothing to do with this, like me. I have changed my message to let people know I have nothing to do with the phone calls they are receiving. I myself have received between 12-18 calls the past few days because of this company spoofing numbers. And I've returned a few calls of people who were upset leaving me messages regarding the calls wanting to make them aware of the situation. There is some information about this online if you look up spoofing and 407 scam calls. This same thing happened to my dad a few months ago because both of our numbers were 407-000# numbers and he was receiving up to 30 calls a day for two weeks. He had to get his number changed. What I've found out is this company may be from Florida and they call people claiming to be from card services to try to get your personal credit information. When they call, they send a different number to you caller ID so they can't be traced, and this just happens to be the number of the week. They prey on people who don't know any better than to give out any personal information. DO NOT Give them any information. They don't know who you are. They are just randomly calling numbers in hopes of getting lucky. If you asked to be removed from their list. It doesn't matter because they are randomly dialing. That is why they hang up on you when you talk to them. They don't care. It is fradulent, and searching online it appears there are laws being made to prevent this; however, there are also applications you can purchase online to spoof numbers, so I'm not sure how that can be legal either. I hope this stops.
