I have received numerous calls from this number. Today I received another call and answered it on the second ring. The voice was a computer generated message asking me about lowering credit card rates. Yet, I have not a single credit card. I pressed the number "9" to find out more about these calls and a live male voice answered "are you calling about lowering your credit card rates?" I responded "the interesting thing about the call is that I don't have any credit cards". The live male operator responded "what is even more interesting Stephen is that I don't give a f......k what you are saying to me" and then immediately hung up.
When I called the number back I got a "quick busy" signal indicating to me that this is a bogus or otherwise not dialable phone number.
I would like to know what is going on with this number and have them stop calling me.
First call today. I don't know where people get a number with a prefix of 000. I wasn't home; left no message. No caller ID. I keep numbers like this on a hand written list near my phone because every so often I list the numbers on my state attry general websote do-not-call registry. I might not know what happens on the other end but I do know I do something when I don't like something. So the guy who got hold of a rude person is something I would definitely report...number and abuse. I did that once and got a direct response from consumer protection; the abuser got probation.
I've received 2+ of these calls, also offering to lower my credit card interest rates. The last call was on 7/6/2009 and was also a robocall which is illegal in the state of NC unless certain conditions are met. Those conditions were not met. I returned the call and was cussed out when I refused to give them any information. The call was reported to the NC Attorney General's office as being in violation of several of the tenets in the NC legislation on telemarketing calls.
