guy called, he was going to lower my credit card interest rate, however, he did not know my name, he asked me if my %%%%% credit card was higher than my %%%%% credit card. the credit cards are not remotley related (i called them to check. I hung up on him. I called the number back that was on my caller id and it is not a working number.
The same thing happened to me today. The automated message asked you to dial 9 to get through to a representative; so I did that (I just wanted to ask to be taken off their list). As soon as I asked the be removed from the list the guy hung up on me! He sounded like he possibly had an Australian accent. I was very polite in asking to be removed from the list so I did not appreciate this at all I decided to try to call the number to again try to get in touch them and ask to be removed from the list but this is not a valid number.
I am sick of getting so many of these calls and then often when I politely ask them to stop or take us off the list they either just hang up or act annoyed...like I am inconveniencing them!!
I work from home and this phone line is where I receive the bulk of the calls...between calls like this and collection calls for a person who used to have my number it seems as though the calls never stop! I have put myself on do not call lists for this type of thing but nothing seems to stop this...
