I also did press 1, and I'm still getting the calls. When I answered the next one, it said they may have a buyer for my timeshare! I was connected with a person, and when I asked politely to be permanently removed from their call list, they hung up on me.
This number calls my work phone number several times a day. I have dialed back the number and the prompt gives an option to be added to a "do not call" list, which I have done several times!
I've also tried answering but no one is on the other end of the line - just hangs up. VERY ANNOYING!
Getting them to remove your number after pressing a number, well you have a better chance of seeing God while you are still alive. What you did was confirm that someone is listening and that you number has a "live" one on the other end. The place uses a computer and if you don't answer right away when someone is available, the call is dropped. Consider buying a call blocker or call blocking phone.
