Some crazy scam collection. She was contacting me about a claim submitted to her office. Stacy Holmes needing to verify a claim for my personal information including home address and place of employment to deliver this claim. I also have one oportunity and I have been officially notified (hard to hear with all the call center noise in the background) But called 3x in 2 minutes and said to call back 844-235-8853
A phone call from a supposed debt collector is not legally sufficient evidence of debt.
The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) includes statements such as this:
* Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money. ["Written" means snailmailed ... not emailed or texted]
Therefore, if that caller wants you to pay immediately, before you get the written validation notice via snailmail, or if the caller wants payment via green dot, Western Union, or other untraceable means, then the call is definitely not legitimate.
IF you wish to communicate with the supposed collector / creditor, visit the following page, for example "Action Letters" to snailmail:
http://www.consumerfinance.gov/blog/debtcollection/
If you KNOW you owe no money, or believe the call was from a fake debt collector, please take the time to read this:

Some lady called me from 407-218-6979 today and told that I had charges against me and needed to verify my address so she can send me papers in the mail. I didn't give her a chance to go through her whole spiel, but just told her to send me the papers and hung up on her. Plus she called me at work, and then called back after I hung up on her. If there was any charges against me, they would have served me already and not need me to verify my address. These people are something else, such BS. If this # calls you, hang up, and don't give them any info. You don't know who you are talking to. Ask them to give you their address and information, and see how far you get.
Got a call today from an ashley hill calling from #407-218-6979 contacting to present me a final papers of charges brought against me. The message said I officially been notified for me to call 855-835-5680. This sounds very illegal. Lots of noises in the background sounding like a call center. Did not give any other information about who she works for or what shes calling about. Left a case # for me to reference. I have no idea what this is about. Thinking it's some sort of scam.
