Pretty much is a piss-poor, sloppy con artist trying to scam you out of your money. If you've got call-blocking, nuke this one from orbit.
A "David Goldman" claiming to be with your state's "check fraud division" (Hint: They will not contact you by phone if you're guilty of that...they'll serve you or arrest you...seriously...) claiming to be investigating a problem about one of your loved ones or even yourself. In our case, they're calling about a "recent" (as in less than three years old...) check written by my girlfriends ***INVALID*** mother (As in bed-ridden, needs assistance for EVERYTHING as a result of a stroke that happened some 5-6 years ago...).
Idiot uses "legal" sounding terms and is all but rambling on the voice mail messages. Not even close to believable except to the elderly.
Unbelievable that they believe their own crap!!! I called them and told them that they cannot call third parties especially to states out of their jurisdiction and in turn the woman threatened me with prosecution. I just laughed and said, "come and get me!"
