Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

i have no idea who is calling, they hang up when I answer.

Caller ID said Florida Calling.  I did not answer and they left no message.

They called again today, Sunday!!! Caller ID "D I R E C T TV". I just shut the answering machine off and let it ring. They let it ring 11 times before giving up. Maybe it is..... maybe it's not..... Direct TV.

My caller ID read DIRECT TV, which turned out to be a caller ID spoof.  I received this call on 10-1-14 at 7:46 p.m.  When I discovered it was the Florida Highway Patrol fundraiser, I told the caller I wasn't interested in donating.  His reply was "Maybe you'll be interested next time." in a very snotty voice.  Very low blow from a Law Enforcement agent!

Bottom line, either don't answer calls from this number, block the number, or report it to the FCC 888-225-5322.
