This is SCAM from a debt collector! I started receiving calls from this number and the number (844) 636-5431 on my personal cell, work cell, and work phone. Yesterday they left a message telling me that a police officer was at my home and that I missed a court date. I called them back and didn't give my name, just asked why they were calling me all the time. The guy was immediately rude and attacking me. I didn't give him my name or anything, just asked him "Who are you?," "What is your company?," "What is your address?". Those are the only things I kept asking him. He wouldn't respond, just that he was with "court mediators." I asked for their address and specifically asked if they were a debt collector, which he declined. He then went on, saying that I was in no position to make demands, when I asked for his name and the address of the company. He said that I "stole money from his client." He threatened that he would "send someone out to get me right away." I then just hung up on him. So here are a few things: This IS a debt collector. They are NOT court mediators. They did NOT sent anyone to your home. Courts don't call you on your phone and mediators, by definition, don't have "clients." These debt collectors want to scare you. They lie and terrorize you. That is what they do. The worst thing you can do to them is just hang up. That's what I did.
