Energy Conservation Group is a telemarketing company based in Orlando that is setting appointments for their sales agents working for Solar First.
Our phone at my work place has rung on average 10 times a day with their telemarketing agency for the last 10 days or so, attempting to set an appointment for their sales agent to visit me with their presentation.
When I attempted to have the appointment set for my place of business the telemarketer indicated that would not be possible and it had to be held at my place of residence!
Repeated requests to have my business phone number removed from their list were met with mocking responses and hollow promises of removal from their lists. On one of the occasions I was told by the telemarketer that the only way to get my name off of their list was to set an appointment and meet with one of their representatives.
I made an appointment.
They missed the appointment.
My phone continued to ring... multiple times each day. On several occasions - their phone calls interrupted sales transactions at my place of business.
I set another appointment.
Their (Solar First) representative showed up 30 minutes late for the appointment and did not have any corporate identification on him or his vehicle representing his business association or employment. No presentation of licenses or state certifications were available or presented.
Energy Conservation Group & Solar First is practicing unfair marketing practices that pressure business owners to make appointments for sole purpose of stopping their marketing attempts to their business phone lines. Energy Conservation Group & Solar First has found a loop hole in the Residential Do Not Call list and is exploiting the flaw by employing a telemarketing agency (Energy Conservation Group) to call business telephone numbers and refusing (on 6 separate occasions) to remove the business numbers and stop calling unless an appointment is set for the business owners home address for their presentation. Energy Conservation Group & Solar First is not to be trusted they are willingly employing a deceitful and intrusive marketing campaign that is highly disruptive and dishonest.
I filed a complaint with the Department of Agriculture Consumer Services.

I received an automated message stated that there was important information for anyone that uses eletricity to claim federal tax credits. Upon connecting, I was told that technicians would be in my area for a free energy evaluation for up to $3,500 in tax credits. When informed that I was on Do Not Call registry, the representative claimed they were not covered because they were not selling anything. There are similar complaints for 407-408-8581, 407-409-5217 & 407-666-1042 all in the last week, so I have filed a complaint on the Do Not Call website.

A lot of people are getting this call, myself included. File a complaint with the Do Not Call registry. It will help them track the number down and put an end to this, hopefully costing the bogus company a fine.
