This is a call from AT&T. If you have a T1 line or something through them and it goes down for whatever reason, say a power outage, someone from the calling center will call from this number to inform you of the event. This is usually in addition to the automated message that they send from I think a different number. To respond to the call supposedly you have to call a different number, I don't think you can call this one. They usually leave me a message and tell me the number to call along with the ticket ID, not sure why some of you got hung up on once the voice mailbox was reached. Maybe it was a mistake.
Anyway the reason I know this is because we just had a power outage at my church where our T1 equipment is and I got these calls from the same number.
Just recently, this number has called 9/28/08 12:13AM, 9/30/08 1:01 PM, 10/01 3:45 AM! -- not counting the past 3 calls I've received anywhere from 1:00 AM - 4:00 AM, and the multiple calls showing on my Caller ID throughout the day. I had the luxury speaking with the people calling during the wee hours of the night asking if they realize they are calling in the middle of night, informing them my number is on the DO NOT CALL LIST, and please don't call again. It's not working! I filed a complaint on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY, I called AT&T to complain since it's there service these people are using. I did a search only to find out the number is from a location on South Magnolia Avenue, in-between E. Anderson and E. South Streets in Orlando, FL 32801.
On my lastest call on 10/1 at 3:45 AM, "Jason" told me he was calling from Technical Support --- that's all I was able to get before I went on my rampage!
