This company is absolutely harassing in the worst way. I have never been so furious with a telemarketer. I asked her to remove me from their list and she refused stating I needed to confirm my name first. I told her it was the law and to remove my number, she refused again, total [***]! They will be reported to the Attorney General.
First off, unless you've called the number (not a good idea to) and know it to be in service, there's nothing saying it is. It could be a dummy to prevent tracing. It may belong to an innocent person, too. Secondly, if you're manually taking the call, or have an automatic answer, odds are favorable for continued harassment. Do NOT tell a telemarketer to remove you from their list, that's seldom granted and often brings such behavior you just witnessed and far worse. You want to stop them and if you're able to do it, make sure they get ONLY a number that rings with no answer at all. This can get on their nerves enough to where they get tired of wasting time on you. Main thing is to have patience and tolerance for having your phone ring.
Yes, it is Hilton Grand Vacations. I did purchase their vacation plan for approx. $100 plus tax. The deal is that I have to sit through their sales pitch for a Time Share (which I made clear I would not be able to purchase). They are calling me now to schedule my time there. So, if you are an Honors member, they can call you because it is all Hilton related.
