I've been pestered by this number several times and I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and no message was left. Thanks to the 800 notes community I discovered that it was Hilton. So I answered it this time and expressed my displeasure in a large respected corporation that acts like a low level telemarketer that won't identify themselves or leave a voicemail. But I caution you as some already did here. If you stay at Hilton give them as little information as possible. Do not give them a cell number or any number that you don't want solicitations on.
This number has called me several times in the last few days and sometimes late evening. They never left a message, but I was able to answer today and it was someone claiming to be with Hilton. She stated I was randomly selected by Hilton because I am a Hilton Honors member and they are giving away deeply discounted trips to Vegas. When I stated I don't care for Vegas, she told me I have a choice of several of their resorts and included cruises. I explained this call has come during the work hours and I didn't have time to discuss this further, but that I would be happy to review the options and pricing if she would email me the details since I was selected. I was told she couldn't do that until I reserve a trip which requires me to blindly put money down with someone over the phone. I told her I would never do that. She explained she could use the card I have on file with my account. Again, I denied and said I wasn't comfortable making purchases over the phone through telemarketing. She then acted very shocked and offended that I wasn't going to take this special deal. I am actually surprised that Hilton would allow an outside firm to call their customers claiming they have access to my credit card on file. I'm definitely not a fan of this type of marketing and caution anyone against committing to something over the phone without a contract of some sort in writing. Very suspicious. I will be letting Hilton customer service know.
