This was a man who was calling to see if I qualified for $2,600 worth of Social Security benefits. This company is seeking individuals between the ages of 55 and 68 years of age, however he wanted my social security number during the process. Told him that I did not qualify considering that fact that I do not fit in to the demographic for their program, yet I was curious as to why, if I wanted Social Security benefits, I wouldn't just visit my local office to apply. He didn't really have an answer for it other than they were trying to provide new benefits for people that they might not be aware of.
Had a really bad feeling about this, especially when they ask for your social security number. Beware, I'm 99.9% confident that this is a scam. If you're looking to obtain benefits, please visit your local Social Security branch.

Yeah, there are no "new benefits" People age 55 cannot apply for SS as the minimum age is 62. The benefits are determined by the wages you earned. This is all etched in stone. Congress did not authorize any new benefits, we are lucky we are getting what little we get. So yes, this is a scam to get your information.
Called twice, one after the other. Said their "records show someone in the household has hearing problems". Was polite when informed they were mistaken.
