Robocall from Rachel at Cardholder Services stating that she can lower my credit card interest rates to as low as 6.9% and that this was my final warning. If only it were!
This supposed service that they offer is baloney. They require a huge upfront fee and are no more successful in lowering your interest rates than you would be if you contacted your credit card companies directly. By the way, these crooks are NOT affiliated with any legitimate credit card company, even though they claim that they are.
This is a scam. Hang up. Don't press any number to speak to any representative because they will only curse at you and hang up on you. Don't press any number to be removed from their list because you are only confirming to the auto-dialer that yours is a valid number.
Add this number (and the many spoofed numbers these clowns use) to your phone's address book under SCAM or block the number if you have that capability.
You should never give out any of your personal information to anyone ... especially your credit card numbers and your Social Security Number!
Last, but not least, we all need to report each and every scam call like this to www.donotcall.gov. You may think that it does no good, but they really are trying to stop these crooks from ripping people off. They just need to know how many people are affected so that they have the ammo to stop them.
Report it to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm?id=d1e37. If they get enough complaints, they'll do something about it. I've started reporting all solicitation calls.
You guys are missing the boat. I get the calls as well.
What I started doing was pressing 1 and putting it on speaking.
When they give the speech I just listen and never respond. I go on doing what I was doing and just waste their time.
Or, I will make them give me the full spill, give them fake info and get all the way to the end. Then tell them I have to run but if they will give me their # I will call them back - cause I really need lower interest rates. That usually gets me a curse word or two and then a hang up.
