Received an illegal robo call from "Rachel" at Card Holder Services, pressed "3" to speak to a representative. Connected with "Kia" who said "Card Holder Services are you ready for a lower rate today". To which I responded only that they were in violation of Federal Law and should remove my number from their call list. "Kia" immediately hung up.
Those connected to a Card Holder Services Representative would be well advised to not answer any question because a common tactic is to edit recordings to produce a version of the called party's voice saying "yes" to a question added by the caller as if the called party agreed to avail himself of their services.
Clearly the Federal Government is not making any effort to enforce the do-not-call list or Card Holder Services would have been put out of business months ago. Pressing the key cited in the recording played when the call is answered as being the means of removing one's number from their database clearly does not work....I've done so nearly a dozen times to no avail.
Yet another credit card call. I have taken to pressing "2" to speak with someone. Soon as I tell them I don't want these phone calls, they hang up on me! How's that for annoying telemarketers?!!
