My cell phone rang and this number displayed with the location Winter Park, FL. I do not answer calls from numbers or people I do not know. I rejected the call and let it go to voicemail. The voicemail that was left said "This is not a valid extension" and that was all, leaving me with no idea who the caller was. I blocked the number.
Credit Card relief [***] robocall.
The recording asks you to press 9 to talk to someone. I pressed 0 to see what it would do and a different recorded voice said, "Thank you for your time, we will remove you from our list."
I'll believe it when i see it.
Called mobile, left no message. When called back using *67 prefix number rings fast busy then disconnects after about 30 seconds or immediately disconnects. A few times it gave slow busy signal for a few seconds, then another type of very slow busy. These appear to be recordings and some have static at the same point in time during the busy signal. It would seem if this number was called repeatedly from many different sources, it would likely impede their illegal activities. It would be interesting to know if calling back uncloaked would give different results as has been the case with other scammers, i.e. the call was answered. Wonder if there are DOS war-dialers to do such a thing and whether or not it's illegal to impede another's illegal activities? With a jury trial, can't believe there would be a conviction or if so, any significant punishment. Any lawyers with FCC expertise should comment. Of course if the number is truly spoofed then all bets are off and innocent parties may be impacted.
