My husband and I put in for a loan online and a person named " John Smith" with an indian accent calls and states that my husband was given a loan and he had not paid on it. In reality there was never a loaned accepted on our behave. Smith stated that he was with CashAmerica and that my husband was being sued and the court date was set for the following thursday. All lies!. I called the number back and a male subject answered the the phone and stated that if John Smith did not pick up he would call me back on the number that I was calling from. I am waiting for the call to come back. I keep all emails, letters and reciepts to all money transactions. I can't wait to speak with JOHN SMITH!
I recieved a call from this place today on my work phone telling me that I had a loan through CashAmerica and that I haven't paid on any of the principle. And because I haven't paid, they are going to sue me and have a warrant out for my arrest and I will spend the next 6 days in jail until I go before a judge. I applied online for a payday loan that I ended up not needing and I never accepted any loans that were offered to me. I asked about the place and they just kept saying that I owed money and they told me to go to walmart and get a green dot money tag, put the money on that and call them back. I called the places I do have a payday loan through and they not only told me it was a scam, but also to ask them about the original loan information. They called back later and wanted me to pay and when I told them I called the places I have a loan through and they said it was scam and they needed to provide more information about the loan. This place got upset and told me they were filing the lawsuit against me and hung up. Then 15 minutes later I get call from an unknown # and I was told it was someone from the LAPD and there was a warrant for my arrest issued. When I tried telling them about this company scamming people, this guy hung up on me. I called my local police department and they just advised either not talking to them or hanging up on them.
I asked for the caller's name and physical address. Hilarious! Obviously east Indian accent, name was Calvin Smith, so asked for his physical address, as he claimed to be with a law office. He gave me 1154 South Canoe Creek Road, Kenansville, FL. Checked the address and it is the Osceola Library System in Kenansville. Ask their name, their physical address so your attorney can send a cease and desist.
